Meditating on His Word

“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.”

Psalm 1:1-3

God’s character is expressed in His works and by the works Jesus did while on Earth. We have a God who lives in us and empowers us but sadly it seems our actions and behavior don’t reflect the character of God. Our character and lifestyle should be a clear reflection of our God. When we receive the Holy Spirit and He provides us with the fruit of the Spirit it should be internally received but also externally expressed. We need to express God’s love in all we do. By meditating on His Word we adapt His character into ours and we become more firmly established into the person He always created us to be. Praying, going to church, and reading the Bible are vital, but meditation on the Word will transform you from the inside out. Don’t casually read the Bible only to forget what it says the next day. We need more than just the pages of the Bible collecting dust on the coffee table. We need them in our hearts. Memorizing and meditation on scripture is a powerful tool. When you need to witness the Holy Spirit will bring to your remembrance the right scripture. When you’re being spiritually attacked and oppressed you will have its living words to fight with. Meditate on the scriptures daily and according to His Word whatever you do shall prosper!
